Steenson has played his entire junior carrer för Växjö Lakers – with this past season played in J20 Superelit, the highest level of junior hockey in Sweden. Viktor is a big strong forward with great speed and who does not shy away from physical play. His style of hockey will fit in nicely with the Missoula Maulers

The Maulers are coached by Marcus Baxter. The past season, Missoula was the runner up for the AWHL championship and qualified for the Tier III National Tournament.

Axelsson produced well over a point per game this season in J20 Elit, and has experience from playing Division 1 hockey. He is a well rounded strong two-way center, who is excited to move to the US to get the attention of college scouts.

Helena Bighorns are coached by Scott Cunningham, and the president of the organization is Mike Butters. Butters used to serve as an NHL scout for the Tampa Bay Lightning. Cunningham and Butters have a strong reputation of putting quality teams on the ice. Helena won the AWHL this season, and are looking to have another strong season in 2012-2013.

SHC-client, Fredrik Johansson has signed with the Arizona Redhawks of the WSHL. Fredrik is a goaltender and has spent the majority of his career in Norway for Lillehammer. The past two seasons he backed up in the GET-Ligan and and saw additional playing time on the Division 1 team. Fredrik is a hybrid goalie with an impressive frame and is in top physical shape. The Redhawks are coached by Rob Powell and comes off a strong season which ended with a playoff loss against the Fresno Monsters.

Anton Lindstrom

SHC-client, Anton Lindstrom has signed with the New Hampshire Monarchs of the Eastern Jr League. Lindstrom is a 93 born power forward who played J20 Superelit hockey for Rögle this past season. Anton’s compete level is excellent and he helped his team to a Bronze medal in the Swedish J20 Playoffs. Also a great student, Anton is looking to take the NCAA route when done with Juniors. The Monarchs is one of the absolute best programs for advancing players to the NCAA and are coached by Ryan Frew.

Valley Jr. Warriors will have another Swedish Goalie this season

For the second consecutive year, Marcus Born will join some of SHC’s NCAA DI goaltenders (Mathias Dahlström, and Fredrik Melander) at Kelly Gee’s Goaltending Camp in Chicago, IL this summer. Kelly has an excellent track record of helping young goaltenders, and SHC are extremely pleased to be able to have an affiliation with Kage Sports and the Midwest Goalie School.

Josef Nilsson (picture property of lhc.eu)

SHC-client, Josef Nilsson has signed with the Northern Cyclones of the AJHL. Josef is a high end goaltender born in 94. This past season he was the starter for Linköping J18 AAA who reached the Quarterfinals in the Swedish playoffs. Josef is also a great student who will graduate from high school this summer which is a year earlier compared to his peers. The Cyclones is one of the top teams in the AJHL and has shipped numerous players to the NCAA.

SHC-client, Joakim Westberg from Huddinge IK J20 Superelit has committed to NCAA Concordia College in Moorhead, MN. Westberg put up 6 points in 32 games for Huddinge and plays center. Westberg has a strong academic record and will enter his stay at Concordia with Sophmore status. The Cobbers are coached by Chris Howe and compete in the MIAC.

SHC-client, Eric Eriksson of the New England Huskies has committed to Elmira College located in Elmira, New York. The Soaring Eagles is one of the best NCAA D3 programs and are coached by Aaron Saul. Eriksson skated in 36 games for the Huskies this season, scoring 2 goals and 4 assists combined with 20 penalty minutes. Congratulations to Eric and his family for his recent commitment to Elmira College!
