We have checked in with SHC-player Trym Isaksen. Trym is in his second season of junior hockey in North America.
Tell us a little bit about what team and league you are playing in.
So far this season I have played for the Missoula Jr Bruins of the NA3HL, we play in the Frontier Division of the league with teams form Montana and Wyoming.
How has the season been so far?
The season so far has been frustrating for me personally. I had a really good start to the season, and was leading our teams defenseman in points. After about 14 games I got what I thought was just a regular groin strain, but turned out to be more serious than that, I’ve been out for 2 and a half months, so we decided it was best for me to go back home and figure out what was wrong.
What has been the best part of playing junior hockey in North America?
The best thing about playing in North America compared to Europe is the fan support at our games and around town, we have loyal fans that are at every game and recognize us around town.
What are your goals for next season?
My goals for next season is playing college hockey somewhere in the US. Thanks to SHC I have already talked to several coaches, and gotten some offers I’m very interested in!
Thank you Trym! We hope your injury heals well and that the college process is smooth!
